Reducing Fear & Anxiety

As the COVID-19 pandemic expands its footprint, it’s also expanding fear and anxiety across the world so HeartMath has come up with a Care Focus to compassionately help transform our fear into more grounded attitude to a feeling of managed concern which unlike fear connects to us more deeply to our heart’s intuitive discernment. This provides clearer thinking, effective discernment, and much better choices through times of uncertainty and rapid changes. Many people have benefited from this practice because they’re simply tired of allowing fear to repress the power and strength of who they really are. 

We know that fear can serve a purpose of helping us take precautionary measures, but when it’s sustained, the amped-up fear can deteriorate our two most important purposes: our health and our clarity. So when we can balance these energies while practicing compassionate care for others and become heart-centered, this helps diminish not only the fear but helps diminish health issues and other things that are happening in our lives. So if you’re watching the news reports, just try to practice listening from the attitude of managed concern just so know you to be aware of what’s going on to reduce this fear effect.

So what we’re going to do right now: We’re going to use the HeartMath meditation to radiate compassionate care to yourself and others. It’ll help calm any mental, emotional energy, the fear that is driving the momentum with what’s happening with the economy, and once we can change these behaviors that will spread. It spreads to other people and we’ll become more centered and balanced and a virus can’t live in that atmosphere.

So I just invite you to get comfortable and this is the HeartMath Care Focus: Replacing Fear with Intelligent Concern. 

We can begin by breathing at a relaxed pace. 

Pretend you are breathing through your heart or chest area and imagine that you are calming your mind and emotion with each breath. Calm emotions help to create a space that enables intuitive access to clear discernment and choices when evaluating situations.

As you breathe, we’re just going to breathe in deeply all the way down and expand our stomach with it and then when we release that breath we’re just going to breathe out slowly releasing all the tension, all the worry, all the concern from our bodies.

As we continue to do this breathing we feel that energy that’s sitting in our intellectual mind. That’s where fear and worry - that’s where it sits. And allow that to just relax as we breathe it out and have that energy, wonderful energy left, just go right down into our heart center. You might feel a tingling in that area. It’s all good. We’re expanding that heart chakra. 

We’re thinking with our Heart-Mind and as you breathe, visualize mental and emotional calm and poise streaming into your mind and into all of your cells. 

Hold the conscious intention in your heart to change feelings about anxiety or fear into feelings of managed concern.

Practice will increase your capacity to maintain care and compassion for humanity’s challenges without creating burn-out in your own system. 

Remember any progress is a lot of progress when reducing fear. 

Be patient and for the next five minutes or so we’re going to work on the breath again, visualize mental and emotional calm and poise streaming into your mind to all of your cells and hold that conscious intention in your heart to change feelings of anxiety or fear into feelings of managed concern.


And let’s close by radiating compassionate care and calm into the global energetic field to help reduce the fear and see people making smarter, less stressful choices from a perception and attitude of managed concern. This leaves people more in charge rather than pawns of fear and mental scatter. The coronavirus is the perfect situation for this effective practice to transfer the fears and anxiety that suppress much of our life force and power to create a better life. 

We can begin to come back but don’t let go of the waves of energy coming from you - allow them to continue to transform the globe. 

Feel the energy enveloping the planet, knowing that by using your Heart-Mind and balancing that energy, you’re balancing all the people on the planet and Gaia herself.
